The 1st ASEAN-China Bioinformatics Workshop was held in Peking University, Beijing, People's Republic of China in 2004. It has successfully led to the 6th International Conference on Bioinformatics 2007 held in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Nansha Science and Technology Park in August 2007.

To promote further cooperation, the 2nd ASEAN-China International Bioinformatics Workshop will be held in Singapore, back-to-back with the 3rd East Asia Bioinformation Network (3rd EABN) meeting (Afternoon 18 April 2008) and the BioInformatics Asia 2008 Conference at the BioMedical Asia Congress, Suntec, Singapore (15th-16th April 2008).
